RATHORAN (2) was slow out of the machine but rallied late to be beaten just a neck when fresh from a spell over this course and distance last start. Might have to go back from the wide gate but he will prove tough to hold out with that run under his belt. LEOVANNI (12) was specked from 41.0 into 20.0 on debut back in August but found 1000m at Hawkesbury a bit sharp and finished fifth. Kept under wraps since that effort. Better placed over this trip and should be ready to make a bright return. TOSINSKY (4) resumes after a six-month spell and has switched to the yard of local trainer Cody Morgan. Placed twice last prep in Melbourne midweekers so he has a bit of a class edge on these. Needs further but is sure to be competitive while fresh. MIAMI BABY (5) did a reasonable job first-up over 1100m at Warwick Farm. Lightly raced three-year-old with plenty more to offer. PAPPIANA (9) resumes for new trainer Nikki Pollock. Keep an eye on the betting.
