VARANE (10) is a relatively lightly raced type who resumed with a good run at Warrnambool over 1200m, no match for a smart winner but doing well to hold second, beaten three lengths. He won second up last time in and getting to 1400m for the first time should suit nicely. TACITO (7) was well beaten in a deeper race at Cranbourne last time but had won easily at Stawell prior and could be an improver at odds. DELTA SKY (11) has been well beaten in her past two against better opposition but did win at Moonee Valley three runs back and her best efforts rate well here. HUGHES (4) resumes, now with the Bedggood yard. He's a consistent type suited at this trip fresh. Fourth at Flemington before a spell in a better race reads well. Wary. VAIL MOUNTAIN (3) can bounce back.
