A fair race for the grade given the money on offer; this could be run to suit the free-going DICKENS who was seen to better effect in a strongly-run race last time and may be able to follow up. He's A Latchico won with plenty in hand 10 days ago and looks set to run well again, with stablemate Aggagio also respected.

Snapped a losing run stretching back almost 2 years when capitalising on a falling mark when winning in this grade at Warwick (2m) but failed to back it up under a penalty the following week when jumping poorly over brush hurdles at Southwell (20.4f). No surprise to see him bounce back.

Fairly useful on the Flat and won twice over hurdles here in 2023/24. Confirmed the promise of recent reappearance when notching his third hurdles win at Fontwell (17.7f) 10 days ago, winning with a bit in hand having been supported. Back up in grade but still one to be interested in.

Won on his only Flat start in France in autumn 2023 and showed ability in qualifying runs for this yard without seeing out his races (has had wind surgery / wears tongue tie), Disappointed on handicap debut when last seen but not ruled out if he can put it all together on his return.

Advanced his form on his handicap debut when scoring in 10-runner race at Southwell (15.8f, good) and improved again in defeat when runner up at Southwell (16.8f) 32 days ago. In better company but may be capable of progressing again.

    Verdict
Not disgraced in a stronger contest on handicap debut having helped force a fairly strong pace and ran creditably when third back in maiden company at Southwell (15.8f) last month, going on the bridle longer than the 2 that beat him. Lightly-raced and could be more to come.

C&D winner hasn't won since 2023 but was much more himself when second of 4 in handicap hurdle at Sedgefield last month. Likely found the race coming too soon when fifth over the same C&D just 9 days on and may well get back on track here.

Maiden Improved switched to more aggressive tactics when narrowly denied over C&D in February (in front everywhere bar the line) but failed to back that up when well below form at Fakenham 38 days ago. Needs to bounce back.

Smart flat pedigree and was placed on the Level in France prior to an encouraging hurdles debut for this yard at Taunton in February. Didn't need to improve on that when dominate a 5-runner novice over C&D 15 days ago. Remains unexposed on handicap debut.

Dual Flat winner may have got off the mark when falling 3 out at Uttoxeter (15.8f, heavy) in December but duly made amends next time, well-suited by a strongly run race when winning 13-runner handicap hurdle at Hexham (16.2f). Can run another big race with pace to aim at again.

Fairly useful on the Flat but yet to reach those heights over hurdles. Ran poorly (after 10 weeks off) when last seen finishing ninth of 12 in handicap hurdle at Worcester (16f, good). Returns from a break after wind surgery and is one to note in the betting for title-chasing trainer.

Fair maiden at best on the Flat but again looked less than straightforward when eighth of 10 in novice hurdle at Fontwell (17.7f, good) 24 days ago. No surprise to see connections try cheekpieces but will need to improve on handicap debut.
