VORTEXIA (8) bounced back after a poor effort on the Sunshine Coast poly with a third over 1912m at Ballina last start. Looking a bit one-paced now so this trip should be ideal. Won't spend a cent from the inside gate and looks the hardest to beat. NICODEMUS (9) remains a maiden after looking a chance on the bend but finding one better last time out over 1700m on the Gold Coast poly. New to this trip but gives every indication he will run it out. CARACORON (2) improved sharply when third-up from a spell recently, attacking the line with purpose to get home by a length in a 1700m Grafton maiden. Progressive gelding with more to offer. CAMELOT STAR (1) is back in distance after mixed results in staying contests of late. A non-winner but one for trifecta and first four players. MADALSA (6) held on gamely for second over 1912m at Ballina last time. Should give backers a sight.
