Tricky race. CHEVAL SAVANT (2) struggled last time at Randwick but it was a handy BM78 on that occasion and this is a lot easier. Two starts back he was a solid winner in this grade at Randwick Kensington and Shinn should be able to slot in from the wide draw. RETOURNE (5) was well below his best at Moonee Valley last start and has been given a few weeks to get over that. His form prior is quite good for a race like this. ROMANS LUCK (4) was okay over this track and trip fresh, working home okay to finish sixth. He should be plenty fitter for that and can improve. ZAAFFAIR STEAL (8) wasn't far away last time at Yarra Valley and gets Craig Williams aboard here. TIERRA (9) is the one with upside, coming off an easy Stony Creek maiden win. Must respect.
