PLATINUM GIFT (3) appeared for the first time in fifty-three days when a distant fourth over this trip at the Sunshine Coast last time out. Will tighten up in condition and won't find this is tough so watch for a much better performance. HOMELAND (1) has switched stables and returns from a 227-day break. Ran a couple of nice races last prep in far stronger maidens than this, albeit over longer journeys. Capable of a big run while fresh. MIA FIGLIA (12) and LADY ALABAMA (11) are first starters who have been well found in early markets. Neither has exhibited a great deal at the trials but the lack of depth here brings them both right into calculations. Next best is EGYPTIAN LASS (5) who improved sharply here at this trip last start when lining up for just the second time. Can progress further.
