She's well placed from the barrier and she can shed the maiden tag. WHAITIRI (3) is a long-time maiden who just missed when favourite over this course and distance first-up 28 days ago. He still has room for improvement and should be fitter now. Has claims off the fresh run and he can make his presence felt. BLACK SANDS (1) steps out to the mile again today following a 0.8L defeat most recently at this track. He draws a better gate today and he has placed at this track and trip previously. Can build on his latest effort and he won't be far away. KEGGS LATER (2) got a long way back first-up and never got into the race. Fitter and further are both big ticks and he's sure to go close.
