RHESUS (1) is shaping up to be a nice type and has needed time to mature. He has been narrowly beaten in both of his starts here this prep and will be spot-on to go one better this time. On top. KESSLER (2) made it 2 wins from his last 3 starts when scoring by 5 lengths here nearly 6 weeks ago. He stays in the same class and should have no issue with an extra 2kg to carry. He can maintain a forward spot from the pole position and can go back to back. STARSPANGLEDANCER (6) failed to run on at all as favourite here 15 days ago and was found to have brushed her hind leg during the run which would explain why she stopped so quickly. She has been given the all-clear since then and also slides down in class. She finds 1300m at the top of her range but can bounce straight back into the money here. ESSKAY (5) raced in tough company in all 4 starts on this track after making the move from Victoria. He is very well placed in this and a form reversal is expected. Watch for him late.
